Fast & Furious 10 Hyped By New Star Alan Ritchson With A Big Claim

Alan Ritchson hypes Fast and Furious 10 with a big claim about its place in the franchise. Ritchson has been a steady presence in Hollywood, having starred in a number of shows and films throughout the years, leading to bigger and better opportunities. The actor played Aquaman on The CW’s Smallville, then pivoted to Blue Mountain State as Thad Castle, and most recently appeared as Hank Hall/Hawk in Titans. Ritchson recently took over the role of Jack Reacher for Prime Video’s Reacher, a new adaptation of Lee Child’s book series featuring the character.

Ritchson was cast in Fast X in May, joining a massive cast that already includes franchise staples such as Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Scott Eastwood, as well as new or recurring characters played by Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, and Rita Moreno. Fast X is set to be part one of a two-part conclusion to the franchise, which will close out the main storyline for the characters, while likely leaving the door open for spinoffs or a new set of films down the line. The movie swapped out directors early on, with franchise regular Justin Lin stepping down and Clash of the Titans’ Louis Leterrier stepping up.

Now, Ritchson reveals he is wrapped on Fast X via Instagram and goes on to make a bold claim, suggesting it will be the best in the franchise to date. “Everything’s always shrouded in secrecy and I don’t want to leak sets or plot points,” Ritchson says of not posting regularly while he was filming, before giving his take on where the film will fit in the overall series. “It’s been an incredible ride,” says the actor, who hypes the film further, saying, “I can’t wait for you to see this movie. It’s for sure gonna be the best one in the franchise so far, I know it.” See Ritchson’s full post below:
It’s unclear who Ritchson will be playing in the film, although a video posted by Diesel welcoming him to the franchise showed him in what appeared to be law enforcement-type body armor, suggesting he’ll either be an ally or someone on Dom’s trail. The last Fast & Furious film, F9: The Fast Saga, was one of the lowest rated of the franchise thus far, showing some signs of wear and tear in the long-running series. The exit of Lin as director was a cause for concern early on as well, but Ritchson’s claim, as well as the stacked deck of talent contributing to the film, have helped to improve expectations for the next entry.
Ritchson has been an interesting actor to watch climb the ranks, and he seems to have found a niche that suits his talents well with projects like Prime Video’s Reacher show and Fast X. Of course, the talent involved in any production will typically hype their upcoming work, but it’s good to hear the confidence that he has in the film, especially as doubts have begun to rise after the last entry in the series disappointed. Hopefully, Fast and Furious 10 will regain its franchise footing and live up to Ritchson’s claim, but even if it doesn’t, there’s still a lot to look forward to, including his mystery role in the film.
